The best advice I can give for the exam is pound lots of MCQs, noting all explanations given for the questions, whether be those we got wrong or right. In addition I would recommend to stick to the study plan from start to finish making sure to pin down all practice questions, progress tests and final exam provided in the review material.

I'd like to share two pieces of career advice that I find helpful as I have been on both sides of the interview table. First, always go into an interview with questions. They can be any kind of questions….what will my typical day consist of?…. so on and so forth. My personal favorite is….what is a potential opportunity for advancement once I have been in this position for sometime. Second piece of advice is follow up with a thank you email. This is something that the younger generation may not do as often as they should. It gives you an opportunity to say so many things you may have forgot to say in the interview but it also reminds the interviewer that you are determined to get this position. My best advice is to send this within 24 hours of your interview. This will ensure your face is fresh in their mind. Something as simply as this may differentiate you from the other potential candidates.

    Best of Luck!!

Study Tip- Get a review software , supplement with ninja audio and wiley test bank, do and redo multiple choice and have a working knowledge of every single possible question that could possibly show up on the cpa exam. You have a moment to study take it and use it to study. Its only a few month of sacrifice but the reward is never looking at CPA review material ever again and that is worth it.

On the days you don't think you can do anything or its hard to get going, tell yourself you just need to do a little bit. In your head go, ok 2 hours is too much, but make yourself do 5 MCQs or 5 minutes of lecture, read 3 pages of materials- something small. In most cases, once you get the books out or log into your study materials, you will end up doing more (you just need to get over the hump). And if the small amount you did is all you can handle, and least you did something or maybe you really are burned out and do need a break.

Study Tip: Take notes using index cards not note books (unless rewriting ninja notes, that is). I found myself taking way too many notes and filling up tons of notebooks with too much information. Finding a way to condense it into the index card makes reviewing more efficient. It helps you find those little study nuggets that make for better review.

CPA exam tip – know matter how many times you fail parts of the exam do not let that defeat you. I used a co-worker of mine as inspiration to take and pass the exam. This co-worker was fifty eight years old and passed two parts the first time taking the test. That alone gave me courage since I was in my fortys when I passed my first part.
