    Career Tip:

Even through you may not be a CPA yet, make sure that you always attend CPE and other accounting training. Make sure you also try to attend training specific to your industry. Things are constantly changing within our field, and it sure looks good to your boss when you know exactly what is going whether it be in accounting or in your industry.

My best advice which I had to learn the hard way is….no pain, no gain! Yes, you have to study hard, no it is not easy. You have to put in the time if you want to succeed. The pain will be temporary and it will be well worth it. Find out what works best for YOU and stick with it. I learned that actually reading the material in the book helped me to really learn the background of the topics so I fully understand them. And this was VERY painful… Never give up!

If you are taking unrelated classes during your CPA studying, devote time to the CPA before and after your other study times. That way the CPA info is refreshed after you stray into other subjects.

My best advice would be study really hard a week before the exam. Do whatever you can to study: writting notes over and over, memorize formulars , and pratice on the MCQ over and over. However, during the week of the exam, I would suggest you to be relax a bit. Try to take it easy and do not over burn yourself. I would keep memorize on the notes. You do not cram your study in few days, it just won't work. Having a good night sleep a night before the exam is important as well. It helps your brain to relax!

My advice for the actual exam is to focus on each MCQ and each SIM as if it is the ONLY thing on your mind. A lot of the time I will overwhelm myself with the exam as a whole. Just get into the habit of take each question one by one, take each testlet one by one, and finally the SIMs. A lot of this exam is about your mindset, so you really need to trick your mind and be confident!

    AUD - 78 (expired), 81
    BEC - 76 (Expires 1/31/2015)
    REG - 76!!
    FAR - TBD

    My exam tip:

I am sitting for the exam without accounting experience…and I signed up for the Becker program. After taking 3 different tests in a row based on their class schedule, I came to the realization that even though they set it up back to back to back to back, if you don't pass a section it doesn't mean it's best for you to simply stick to their schedule it and do a different one…so what I realized is that for me, especially if you are close to passing a certain sections, stick with the same exam instead of taking in another and losing the focus on the latest one. Since then I passed REG and BEC.

Exam study tip: my tip is to pratice, pratice, and more pratice mc and sim questions. Get the Wiley test bank and do all of the questions. I did over 4000 questions for FAR for instance that just gave me pratice remembering the little things that you can forget if you don't do many questions. Also, while you are working them, know not only why the correct one is correct but why the others are wrong.

    FAR - 10/3/12 - 86
    BEC - 11/27/12 - 70 1/14/13 - 81
    AUD - 4/4/13 - 87
    REG - 7/8/13 - 80
