I have noticed when taking the CPA exam that I do my best when I do not rush and take my time on each question/ section. I make a habit of flagging each and every question I am not 100% sure of. Once I get to the last question I go back to the beginning and on the paper they supply mark down each question I KNOW I got right. I then review the others to be sure they were my best guess. I then quickly calculate my score based on what I know I got right. It has helped me to gauge where I am in the test as far as my “score” is.

Always ask for a business card after an interview and make sure to send a thank you email very soon after your interview. Try to regurgitate something that you talked about in the email.

Win the Lottery. 🙂 If not that, then make yourself a structured study plan, and do your best to not vary from it. It is similar to working out at the gym. It takes hard work, to achieve any worthwhile goal!

The best study tip I can give is to trust your gut, only you know what's best for you and your study habits. A lot of different people will give you different ideas, and obviously take that advice if you think it will work. However, trust your gut and believe in yourself always! Don't get caught up in too many different types of studying or you will be completely overwhelmed with an exam that is already overwhelming on it's own!

I would do as many MCQ's as possible and focus on the areas that you dislike, those are probably the ones that you need more work on. And dont EVER give up! Keeping your goals in mind during the long study hours is what will help you get through this!

Interview Tip – When you go into an interview take and deep breath, relax, and be yourself! It is always good to bring a list short list of questions to ask the interviewer/s that are relevant. Typing them out, and making them look nice goes a long way and shows that you are putting in time to the interview and really care.

My exam tip would be to get through all of the mandatory multiple choice questions from your review material. Going over them more than once will greatly help!

My best CPA exam study tip is to set a schedule and stick to it!

Don't start studying too far in advance.

Study the areas that you least want to study the most!
