Pass the CPA exam as soon as possible – don't wait until you regret.

    And – Never give up!

My advice is to make sure you have a realistic study plan in place before ordering materials. Spending money for materials when you have not yet figured out a plan of action will prove to be time consuming, costly & mentally defeating. Associate with people that will keep you honest on your plan.

I've only taken one exam so far on my journey (and failed miserably), but I guess my best advice is to keep calm and test on. My next chance to pass is in April, and I've decided to go after the AUD exam instead of trying the FAR one again. So far, I seem to grasp AUD better and so I think I might have a better chance of passing.

Anyway, just don't give up (hate to sound like a copycat, but it's true) and keep pushing yourself to study because one day, you (and I) WILL pass, and then we can celebrate!

Taking practice tests and exams have been psychologically and scientifically proven to work and is one of the best ways to prepare not only for the FAR exam but also for other sections of the CPA exam.

My best exam tip is do NOT underestimate the length of time and hours of commitment it will take to study for and pass each section of the exam. If you have a full time job and a family, you pretty much will not have a social life for a while. If you have young children, study after they are in bed. Trying to do so beforehand will pretty much result in non-stop distractions. Get out of the house and go to the library to study, or somewhere else so they can't find you! (I still love them, but they sure can interrupt learning)

I think that the best advice is to prepare as best you can, but when test day arrives, just show up and see what happens. Too many people psych themselves out about this test.

I definitely agree with people who have recommended taking the exam before you start working. It makes things much more manageable.
