I'm not sure if its appropriate to ask a question on this thread as everyone here is sharing advices – but roughly how much time should one give his/herself to study for the exams? I know everyone has their own pace, but after looking at everyone's advices, I feel that it might be wiser to start with FAR than AUD as I had originally had planned (I'm currently about to start my ventures in tackling the cpa exams). And is taking courses necessary? Has anyone managed with self-teaching? Thanks.

Tip for CPA exam preparation: write your notes out. This is very valuable as oppose to highlighting or underlining the material in your text book. Using the ninja notes are very useful in this manner. Also, plan out every week prior to your exam so that you're able to touch on every chapter leading up to your exam date! Lastly, MCQ are so critical… Do as many as possible! Good luck!

    AUD- 82

    REG- 76

    BEC- 4/5/14

    FAR- 5/31/14

    Study tip :

Keep your cell phone away when you are studying and most importantly do not go to facebook and internet if possible. Concentration in what you are studying goes a long way!

Do all homework questions and redo them over and over again! It you start memorizing answers, make sure you still take the time to redo the question to understand how to get there.

I think the best study tip I can offer is to really focus on the main items and to try not get lost in all the details. There is so much information to remember…..and you can not remember it all! I am using Becker to prepare. I focus on the key items they tell me I need to. I don't try to memorize the entire book. If you try to to do this it will end up hurting yourself in the long run.

Never give up on your dreams.

Let goals and put in the hard work to make them reality.

    Study Tip:

Read every chapter once (take your notes while doing it) … Lots of multiple choice until exam day. Simulations on weekends.

Use flashcards or Ninja-notes to review the chapters daily, while practicing multiple choices!
