One of the most important things to do before you start studying is to make a schedule and do your best to keep to it. I struggled initially without a schedule because the lack of organization can create stress and panic. A schedule will help you maintain control of your stress and keep you focused. Best of Luck !!

My study tip that I find effective for me is to study everyday. 1 hour, 30 mins or so will keep the material fresh in your mind. I used to wait until the weekend to study but that wasn't working out. By the time next weekend came around, I already forgot where I left off or what I have learnt. So far, the new plan is helping me remember my materials couple chapters ago.

Study tip: start preparing for CPA right after got your degree. It is hard to go back to studying habit after you give yourself a break

Career tip: try to get your first experience in a larger company. It makes it easier to get a job after it

Study tip: I found that taking notes and revisiting those notes has been helpful for me. I really didn’t believe this was a good method but I find but information into my own words has been helpful. In college, I wasn’t a big note taker but since starting my CPA exam studies, I realize I am retaining the knowledge when I take notes, re-read the notes and actually re-write them. Good luck to everyone.

What I find extremely helpful for my study time is turning off my iPhone, iPad, TV etc or better leaving them in another room. This keeps me from checking FB, instagram and other social networks. I also keep myself from surfing internet while studying, so the only application/window open on my computer while studying is the actual study program. This saves me a lot of time!

    BEC – 82

    FAR – studying now

The main thing is to keep pushing forward with the chapters even if you feel you're not gonna make it. If you don't understand a concept, just make a note of it and move on. Come back to it later when you have a fresher mind. Also, the amount of hours put in is not important, it's the quality of those hours that counts. Focus on your weak areas during the final review. Then take the test and move on with your life.
