Just a simple reminder to those who wish to take this exam:

    DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE IT.

    You will regret it.

My best tip for studying CPA exam is keeping yourself away from Facebook. It sounds silly but I found myself that I can focus better if I don't check my Facebook. I deactivated mine while I was working on each sections. (FAR & REG).

Next best tip would be doing lots of MCQs!!!!! Studying material is important but doing MCQs is much more important I think. Constantly going back and forth between them.

I suggest finding a quiet place outside of the home if you have family. My kids want to sit with me while I study and the like to interrupt and show me things. It takes away from the concentration I need.

First make sure to make time to study. It seems like something is always coming up, but you have to be strong and let family and friends know you need to study. People who are not CPA's and have not majored in Accounting classes really do not understand the difficulty you are facing. Having a good balance on work/life and study is the key to success. Once you master how to balance your life you will be ready to conquor and pass he CPA exam.

I'm new to the studying but so far my biggest tip is to not let studying mess up your normal routine or it won’t be something you will stick with. I find that getting up early and staying up later works for me so my normal day to day stuff can be close to the same.

    Audit- 2/28/2014 UGH 73--8/2/2014 85!!!!

    This is my MO:

    * Make a study plan that is realistic but keeps you on a tight rope!

    * Completely clear schedule of everything you can – incl dental & beauty appts, lunch dates, etc. (I even warned my family they would be eating a lot of dinner take out or boxed mac & cheese!)

    * Immersion – however many hours a day you can commit, but EVERY day

    * Read all study material; get clarification on anything you don't get

    * Read another71.com blogs to get hints and gain insight and stay plugged in

    * MCQs, Ninja notes, flash cards, read your notes out loud, OVER and OVER AGAIN

    * At the end of the day RELAX and get a good night's sleep; don't get overtired – your brain needs time to assimilate all this heady stuff

    * Picture in your mind the score you want to get!

    * Keep going!

I passed AUD with a 93 in Nov and I'm currently preparing for REG. I think having set study times has been key to ensure that I'm consistent and moving along at the right pace.I recommend plotting out study times before each part and sticking to it.

    Good Luck !!

My tip is for interviewing. Go over behavioural interview questions, write down what'd you say and practice a few times before the interview. I think this helps a lot.
