Do the related section of homework right after you review the lecture. I use to wait until I finished viewed the entire lecture chapter and would then do the homework for the entire chapter. But I have since found that it helps me to understand the work much better if after I do the lecture for each section in the chapter, I do the section of homework thereafter before I move on to the other lecture. I also visit these forums and connect on twitter. The support from reading other peoples post really makes a difference when you don't have anyone else in your circle that is familiar with the CPA exam. Hope this helps EVERYONE who wants to become a CPA!!!!!… 1 more to go REGS

First and foremost make a plan, know how your going to schedule a given amount of material, questions, review over your study timeframe. Make your plan tough, but realistic so that you can follow through, and stick with it.

I always like to study in a different place (library, starbucks, etc) then where I do my other things (work, home), it helps me focus and stay away from distractions.

MCQs are the most important part of studying hands down. Go through as many as possible, but make sure that you read through the answers and understand each one.

My tip is for studying financial ratios. You really don't need to memorize the individual ratios. All you need to remember is the income statement item over the average balance sheet item from the beginning balance to the ending balance. For example: inventory turnover ratio (COGS / avg inventory balance) or (I/S item / avg B/S item).

It's alot easier to study a catch-all formula then memorizing few detailed formulas. I hope this helps!

Best study tip, listen to Ninja Audio on the morning of test; at least the topics you're struggling on.

I've been trying to pass the CPA while working for one of the big four accounting firms. Due to lack of study time, I've failed several times. I've recently quit and began seriously studying. What works for me:

    1. Read and take notes

    2. Do all MCQ and take notes

    3. Review all notes (cumulatively)

    4. Re-do all questions in areas you're weak in (cumulatively)

    Repetition, repetition, repetition!

    Good luck!
