My tip would be to not stop. Don't get discouraged and stop taking tests, because it is incredibly more difficult to start back up again.

I'm currently studying for AUD and will be sitting next week; my BEST advice is doing MCQs during the week…AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Saturday and Sunday write out the answer with understanding. Comprehend what the goal is before you move on….this will make the SIMs so much easier because you will fully understand the material in your terms.

Picture a tree (AUDIT) without leaves….now add leaves (EVIDENCE, SAMPLING, INTERNAL CONTROLS, ETC). Place them on the tree so they connect and make perfect sense to YOU. Remember a tree grows upward…so, start from the bottom.

Tip for all people trying to get in CPA field would be, wait for a firm that's a good fit for your personality. If you are more of a talker and want interaction make sure the firm seems to be that type or if you want to just come in do your work and go make sure they aren't going to make you interact with clients and stuff like that. Remember an interview is also to make sure you will be a fit in the firm as well.

    Exam tip:

Don't rush. Give yourself ample time to cover all the material and also leave yourself some time to review.

    Job Hunting tip:

It's not about WHAT you know, it's about WHO you know. Don't burn bridges. Remember everyone.

Exam Tip: Study a little bit every day, even if for only 20 min. I find that if I give myself a full day off, studying the day after is ten times more difficult. Keep yourself in the routine of always looking at some form of material.

    B - 80
    A - 82
    R - 79
    F - 77

    Boom

My tip is first finish all the videos and also make your own notes while watching lectures. Read your notes everyday before you go to bed. Do MCQs as many as you can. Also make charts of formulas, journal entries and mnemonics and put them on your wall so you can see it or refer it whenever you like. Also don't change your material again and again.

    Simple Advice

Outline a plan and study schedule, have variations in study location and times of day you study to freshen your mind. Keep clear on concise notes, don't stress or worry about how exam or others are doing. Just prepare yourself to the best of your ability!

Career Tip: Put in the time to study and pass the CPA exam. If you don't pass the first time, or the second time, or the third time, keep going. As you try and move up the food chain in your career, the CPA designation will become more important. Don't just dream it, do it! Remember, nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream.
