I've found that the best plan for me is to make a study plan and stick to it. I make studying part of my routine. I noticed someone else said to keep your routine, and I agree with that. I still go to the gym and hang out with my friends, but I prioritize at certain points of the week. I think that balance is important and downtime is needed in order to stay somewhat sane!

Also, find encouraging people who support you and your goals. 🙂

    AUD - 77!!!
    FAR - 71, 73, 72, 73, 77!!! DONE!
    BEC - 75!
    REG - 75!

One of the best study tips I can think of is to be certain you understand the material. Don't just try to memorize it . . . be sure you understand it. If you understand the theory, you can work through about any problem. It's less stressful and you'll feel better going into the exam. I also found that working for a public accounting firm and doing transactions on a daily basis helped me prepare for the CPA exams. If I had to start over, I'd work for a public accounting firm for awhile before I attempted to take any of the exams.

My best advice is to be flexible in your lifestyle, and make the test your number one priority. Your life and parties will always be there, and good relationships will support you (not complain). It's worth it.

    AUD – 85

    BEC – 78

    FAR – 76

    REG – 71, 71, third attempt TBD 2/24/13

Right before you go to bed, take 10-15 min to review your notes/flashcards and then do the same thing after you get up in the morning. This keeps things fresh in your mind.

    Hello Everyone,

My tip is if you are not yet in the accounting industry, get your CPA first. Accounting can be very demanding of your time. I wish I would've sat for the exam before I started working at a CPA firm. My choices always boil down to work or study. I have the tendency to choose work and next thing I know it is time for the exam, I cram and get behind at work, to end up with a 74….. I wish I still had that “job” before accounting. My shift was over and my time, was my time not… I should work another hour or two or the whole weekend. So aim for that CPA License first. Of course as many of us are already in the industry all I can say is don't give up!!! We will be CPAs!!!
