I would say my best CPA study tip would be to TURN OFF all distractions ( phone, music, television). In this day and age distractions can cause a lot of disruptions in our thought process. You may not be able to retain any of the information that you are studying if these devices are on. These items will be there when you complete your study session.

Think of the SACRIFICES that you will make now and the FUN ( partying, hanging out ) you will have later.

Second tip- Always review the work that you did the week prior because you will tend to forget the material. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. 🙂

    Good luck to everyone.

What's helped me is to set off a block of time every day to study and stick to it no matter what!

You eat every single day, right? Make studying the same way…gotta do it everyday!

And during that time, turn off all distractions. By that I mean turn OFF your phone. Not on silent, not on vibrate…COMPLETELY OFF!

Do you best to sleep well, clear your mind, and go into the exam knowing you're prepared. Worrying about every answer or feeling anxiety prior to completing the exam will only add fuel to the fire. None of those things will HELP you. Focus on the things that help. Review simple notes and tables. Do well.

I am currently working as a tax accountant, full time university student and mother of two children under the age of 5. I will be eligible to sit for the CPA exam August 2014. The best tip that I can give is organize and prioritize everything. I make list to remind me what is needed for a particular return, what homework assignments as due and what is needed on the home front. That is the only way I stay on top of everything.

When I start studying for the CPA I will do the same thing. Indicating time allotted to study which chapters and who have a birthday party to go to. LOL

    Stay organized!!

The best tip I can give is to do lots of MCQ, also try and focus in the area(s) that you are the weakest in, no point in doing MCQ for stuff that you already know.
