    One day….
    Participant

Write key items down on paper and put it in your pocket. Standing in line the store, going for a bathroom break at work, walking to your car – pull it out and study. Read one line and then repeat it in your head while doing everyday things. Every second counts!

One day is today! I'm DOOONNNNNEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

My best CPA advice is to trust your abilities. Days after the exam don't try to remember each question and find the answer in your review books, instead take some time off and relax. The score will come when it comes. Majority of people don't pass all the exams on the first try, don't feel discouraged if you don't. What you learn in a fail may guide you to a pass in the future, so don't think your time was ever wasted.

Dont forget to live your life. Just because you are spending a lot of time studying, doesn't mean that you have to ignore everyone and everything else in life. Make sure to give yourself at least one day free from studying each week. This will keep you sane!

    BEC – 79, Oct 2013

    AUD – 79, Dec 2013

    FAR – Feb 25, 2014

    REG – Apr 11, 2014

Write notecards! Go through each chapter essentially writing an outline of the chapter in notecards. Write down all formulas, key topics in bullet form, important definitions, etc. Anything you feel you don't already have down pat – write it down. Include a reference on the notecard to the page in the book where additional information can be found.

HI everyone…i am on my way to a CPA, So i don't have my best advice on how to study well, but have been picking up study tips from the forum and Jeff..thanks guys!! But i do have an accounting career advice:

1.For those of you who are still in school: Pass your CPA ASAP right after you graduate school or even before applying for jobs, i regret the fact that i did not do this because i got so trapped in a busy season after another working having been working in a cpa firm, and serving commercial clients, non for profit and government, the busy season just never ends, 12/31, 06/30, 09/30 year end…and by the time i have my vacation i'm just too burnt out…

    2. Being stuck in a day to day busy work routine, all work without play and not serving your time to others like your family, friends and the ones in need can make you feel lost at the end of the day…you may not feel it when it's the beginning of your career when you're so motivated and wanting to be a superstar, but when you climb the top and be on top without serving others..you will feel a sort of emptyness..so don't forget to have balance life, even though your love is accounting and love what you do..but love yourself by not being selfish and serve others…

    3. Once you have a CPA and be a leader, be a good leader with good moral and people serve attitude

    Goodluck future CPAs!!!

My advice would be to write a lot of notes!! Do a TON of MCQs and write down the concepts for each one you get wrong.

And also, don't forget to reward yourself once in a while by taking a night off to go out or something. Get exercise too!! It helps you to focus and be more productive 🙂

    FAR 75 (8/21/13)
    AUD 72 (10/29/13) 74 (2/12/14) 84! (04/01/14)
    BEC 75 (11/27/13)
    REG 72 (05/29/14) 74 (07/10/14) 86 and DONE! (10/02/14)

My tip is to apply to every and everything to get that CPA experience. I'm born and raised in sunny California and I actually have interviews in Montana and Wisconsin! Yes, yes I am willing to go there for a year to get the CPA certificate. And it never hurts to ask for a phone interview.

Best advice so far that has helped me out a lot is writing down concepts/information I missed in the MCQs. I will usually make a note when I am going over my answers and then either write down or create notecards once I am through. This gives you a few minutes for it to sink in after you have received the question to go over the concept again and potentially retain more of it.

    Interview Tip: BE CONFIDENT!

Confidence is a prerequisite for success

    FAR - 1/1
    AUD - 1/1
    BEC - 1/1
    REG - Q4

Have Becker, wish I got Roger
