Since I haven't passed any exams yet 🙁 (which I really hope to be finished by this year) – I can post any helpful tips as career – related. Some tips for any new grads going to the real world is to believe in yourself and to be confident. It's a tough and competitive business world out there. We don't know everything so don't be afraid to ask questions. Take lots of notes. Remember, one bad day (at work) doesn't mean a bad life.

Working in the Big 4, I had a hard time finding time outside of work to study. I noticed that the least work would interrupt me occurred around holidays, so I started planning my exams and PTO for studying around the holidays. I know it's not ideal to study around holidays since it is family time, but my family was understanding and work left me alone so I took advantage it. I studied over Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, my birthday, and the Super Bowl (yes that is a holiday to some people! 🙂 )

    FAR: 73 (5/2011), 71 (11/2012), 79 (1/2013)
    AUD: 71 (7/2011), 83 (2/2013)
    REG: 60 (8/2011), 77 (2/2013)
    BEC: 74 (4/2013), 80 (8/2013)

My study tip is to make notes and read them as much as possible. I understand that doing MCQs is also a good way of learning but first you need to have good understanding of the topic. Otherwise MCQs can be really frustrating. Happy Studying everyone!!!

    REG 81
    BEC 74,65,78
    FAR 79
    AUD 85 DONE!!!

The biggest tip I can give you is to STUDY the NFP (8%-12% – per AICPA site) & Governmental Accounting (8%-12%) – do not underestimate how much they test on these sections!

    Who's better than us? NOBODY!

My tip would be (at least for FAR) to really focus on the Simulations. I do not feel that the MCQs are all that helpful in doing well on the sims (and that is 40%!)
