The best advice I can give everyone is to be optimistic. And that you want to take this exam only once.

Make a plan and STICK TO IT!!! That being said, remember to forgive yourself if you veer off course – chances are, it was for a reason and you needed that (drink, sleep, time with family/friends, etc) to keep yourself sane. Coming from someone studying during busy season, it IS possible to find the time or make up for lost time.

My advise to prepare for exam is the following:

    – Make a plan and schedule and stick to it.

    – Incorporate time for friends, family and more importantly yourself. (As you can't take care of other if you can't take care of yourself)

    – I believe we're creatures of habit and try to coincide your exam when you're most alert and productive during the day. For instance, if you're not a morning person and need time to get going in the morning. I wouldn't suggest sitting for an exam @ 8:00 am in the morning.

    – Set a date for your exam. I don't mean like considering taking the exam next month or window. Actually schedule the date and time to sit for the exam. I believe not doing so leads to procrastination.

    – Lastly, be confident on exam day and relax afterwards. Take a break for few days and get back in the saddle with studying for preparation of other exams or celebrate like it's 1969 if its your last exam!

Good luck and don't give up. Reading the forum has taught me I'm not the only with issues when preparing for the exam or the only one who scored a 74 on a section of the exam!

    Cheers!

CPA study tip: study the multiple choice questions!!! Do as many as you can, because there is a chance they will appear on the exam!

Accounting career tip: go out to lunch with your coworkers once in a while–be social and get to know your coworkers as real people, and it's a good way to build rapport.

I think the best career tip (and one that will apply to the CPA) exam as well is: persistence. Persistence is key when working towards goals of any kind. Sure there will be ups and downs but you have to stick with it. Getting a job is tough but keep calling, emailing, write Thank You notes, etc. When in the job, you constantly have to be persistent in order to get information you need in order to do your job and meet deadlines/keep clients happy. When taking the CPA exam, one must be persistent and continue to study even after possibly not passing an exam. I've experienced not passing FAR twice now and have been told that I need to stick with it, that eventually I will pass. I must be persistent, as there is no other option I choose to allow myself.

My best advice is to go into the exam confidently. Be confident that you worked hard and did the best you could studying.

Tip #1: Schedule your study time and set an alarm on your phone.

Tip#2: For each section do the following sets: Step 1) Do 20 questions of a section. Step 2) Do another 20 questions of the same section that you haven't seen. Step 3) Do Missed Questions (missed 1 time). Step 4) Do another 20 questions, you haven't seen in the same section. Step 5) Do Missed Questions (missed 2 times). Repeat this process until you completed the section you are studying,
