Have good sleeping habits. This can apply to studying for the exam or the night before the exam. Being well rested is essential.

As Dory says, “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.” it's easy to give up, But you just have to push through. If the CPA were easy everyone would be doing it. You've come this far, don't stop now. Life gets hectic, and times get tough. But you have to put in the time and really want it.

During the final review, my best advice would be to write down the way to calculate both your right and wrong answers for multiple choice, rather than just your wrong ones, to ensure that you didn't just get an answer correct by luck or chance. Flagging questions you are hesitant about your answers to also helps this process.

I'm going with a career tip, 'cause Lord knows I'm not in any position to give anybody study advice…

For the CPAs looking to start their own firm: always treat your clients with the same level of service, whether they're a family friend or the local business mogul you've been trying to sign for months. Your second cousin may not care about white-glove service, but their referrals will. Consistency is the best thing for a good reputation.

    FAR: 78
    BEC: 75
    REG: 8/1 score release!!

    My best exam tip:

Before the exam timer starts, write down as many notes, mnemonics, formulas etc that you can think of. It will come in handy when you are 2.5-3 and you're brain is fried!

I have only been studying for a month and a half now so we will see how it pays off, but my study tip is to focus on the MCQ's. To be completely honest I don't understand a lot from the readings, but when I am going over the questions and the explanations it begins to make sense. Wish me luck. FAR May 2014
