A somewhat unconventional study tip, and something that I have always found helpful to me, is to study under a bright lamp. If you're one to study early in the morning or late at night, it can certainly help keep you awake and focused.

My advice is to set a study schedule/planner listing what task you plan on achieving for the day. At least by sticking to that schedule you're able to see if you're on track or how far you've fallen behind. Hopefully, not the latter.

My study advice would be to set up a detailed plan for what topics to cover each day/week. And try to squeeze in reviewing materials during any free time you have. Could be something as silly as reviewing flash cards/notes on your phone while taking a bathroom break or listening to audio while taking a shower or cooking dinner. Every little bit counts!

    BEC: 79

    FAR: 67, 4/19/14

    AUD: 71, 74

    REG: n/a

So far, what has worked best for me is to write down the questions that I did wrong in first time, and when I come again to a particular section I do only the wrong MCQs and mark the one which I get wrong the second time. Other than that, follow the NINJA rules. They are painfully time consuming, but they work. They really do work!

    REG - 75
    BEC - 76
    AUD - 76
    FAR - 84, DONE 11/9/14!

Exam tip…when you get that dreaded 71 (or 72, etc.), don't give up! It would be so easy to just call it quits after all that studying without success, but the feeling you get when you get that last 75 is so worth it!

Best CPA advice I can offer: (1) Study as though your exam were 1 week sooner than it is; (2) Do so many Wiley MCQ's that you think your brain will catch fire; and (3) If you land the accounting job “of your dreams” and it turns out to be less fulfilling that you'd hoped or envisioned, don't give up. Fight through the challenges and you'll find that after a while you will get the hang of it. You might even get to the point where you enjoy it!

My study tip is to differentiate your studying, working and relaxing environment. If I study where I don't play, I'll focus better.
