For me, a single tip is when I need to memorize some formulas or some annoying data, I write it into a cardboard, or cardstock or even a paper, and tape it in a room wall so I can see it and read it with no effort. Now for my last exam, BEC, I have a couple of cardstocks with Capital Budgeting formulas and with the steps for Equivalent Units of Production just like Jeff explains in the Ninja Notes

I'd give anything to have finished the exam back after I graduated college. Since then I've had every distraction life could throw at you. My best advice, what I do now is pick and schedule my

Exam date and get everyone on board at home and at work. This Raises my chances to get everyone to divert requests to others because they know I'm committed to studying for and passing the exam hopefully this year.

    My CPA Exam tip:

When answering each question, always try to eliminate the 2 answers that don't make sense. This will give you a 50/50 chance if you need to guess rather than a 25% chance. I am not the smartest accountant out there, but my test-taking strategies are what always help me. Memorizing every topic is not realistic, just study enough of the material and then sharpen your test-taking strategies to get those last 5-10 points. I cannot guarantee this will work for everybody, but a majority of the time I am able to identify 2 answers that don't make sense to the question with leaves me with a better probability of getting the question correct. Good luck to everyone!! HIYA

Don't take a practice test. Make a plan execute it and do a ton of MCQ. Practice tests are for making you think your smart or think your an idiot.

The best advice I can give is too use the grid sheet during the test and label 24 rows and three columns. You can then use this little grid to put a c, nc or g for confident, not confident or guess. This will help you plan your time accordingly during the test. It will also help to determine which questions to revisit (there is no point doubling back on a guess). Lastly, if you use this chart you can leave the test with some level of confidence of how you did by attributing each C with say a 1, a NC with a .5 and a G with a .25. And assign a margin of error so you can leave the test with some level of confidence about how you did.

    BEC- 81
    REG- 67, 75
    AUD- 71, 74, 83

    Ethics- 95

Have to keep it real 🙂 because this one has definitely affected me. I passed a few sections and failed a bunch and had some expire… still working on FAR today. The top thing I could say is to stay focused and DON'T TAKE TIME OFF during this process! This seems easy enough and I heard it many times before I started but maybe once more can make a difference. I heard this tip and figured, that's easy – just keep studying and don't stop. However, life gets in the way and things happen – no matter what age you are. Family, friends, career, personal, etc… I ended up taking a break from studying after I passed two sections because I thought they would all be so easy… I'll just finish later. I got into a relationship and didn't study for a while. I think delaying only hurts exponentially more and more… When I got back into studying, I kept failing my third section repeatedly and eventually lost all credit that I had earned. Now I am still working to pass all four.

Stick with it and get the exam over with as soon as you can! Then you can move on to bigger and better things, personally or professionally!
