Best interview question to keep in mind!

“If your neighbor has an emergency and asks you to watch his baby elephant for a few hours, what would you do? Take care of him or take him to the zoo?”

Take at least the day before your exam off work so you can cram. This helps with any exam..

I've already seen my favorite tips mentioned a few times already, but they are #1 – Listen to the audio during daily commute and #2 – NEVER give up!

Since I just started studying for the CPA (Beginning with FAR) I don't have a lot of good advice on studying. What I am trying to do is to constantly ask myself if I understand what I am reading. If I don't then I try to write out in my own words what I find difficult. On the more complex material I jot out the main procedure and the reason for it. I am making notes so I can go back over them again and again and again. It has been helpful to read all the other posts as it has given me lots of good study tips.

When interviewing, be your self. People sometimes put on such a front that sometimes when they get the job they realize they don't fit in at all at the company. You are interviewing the employer too you need to fit in there to be happy!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Be realistic about the amount of time it's going to take you to prepare!

Something I do for each section is I try to project the amount of time I need to get through the material. I average about 10 pages of text per hour and about 1 MCQ per minute. Practice sims are about 30mins each. I extrapolate that over the entire section I'm studying for to estimate the amount of time I need to prepare. This does not include review time.

80-100 hours doesn't look like a lot until you try to plan when to actually spend those hours. Cramming for the whole test the weekend before is not possible! You need weeks to adequately prepare. Maybe more depending on your ability/availability.

Don't mess yourself up by blowing it off!
