The best advice I can give so far is to PLAN AHEAD. As soon as you know you're going to take the exam, plan out when it is going to be best for you to take the exams, plan out how you're going to go about studying for them, plan out where you want to study, for how long, how many days a week…planning is key, because there's just so much material to cover and learn. The better plan of attack you have going into it, the better chance you have of succeeding. Don't wait until the last minute to decide when to take it, and DEFINITELY don't wait until the last week or two to study!

My tip is: Do not wait long after getting out of school to take the exam. The longer that you wait the harder it is to get back into the habit of studying and you will be surprised by the amount of information that will be gone. I waited 10 years and setting aside time to study with all the obligations that I now have is so hard.

Study on your lunch break. Take your leftovers to work for lunch. You'll get an extra 1+ hour of studying in, and save $10-$20 dollars per day. That's 20-30 hours extra per month, and $200-400 saved on your lunch budget. Win/Win

Study Tip- Keep a journal of your studying. When (if) you fail a test, you can look back and reevaluate your approach.

Career- Get really good at Excel/VBA. Simple macros have saved me hours of repetitive tasks. Boss will think you're a genius.

Good afternoon Ninjas! My tip for the day is to add active listings to study sessions with the audio review. That is, take notes, pause, rewind, discuss the topic with your self after pausing. Also, bounce the lessons major points around with anyone who will listen by attempts to teach them what you learned… Even if the person has no idea what it all means! Study well my NINJAs!

Do as many MCQ's as humanly possible…then do more. Then study the ones you got wrong by writing down why you got them wrong to cement the concepts that you dont understand.

The best CPA advice, is repetitive but it works: Put your all into the studies, don't cut corners and think that you are going to pass an exam that is NOT going to work.

If things were easy everyone would do them!

    Good luck

My best CPA study tip is to continue doing things that are important to you. Don't feel like you have to “give up” family time for study time. You don't, and it's not worth it. Make time to study, but don't neglect your family to fit in a couple more hours of study time.

Career advice – network, network, network. It truly is about who you know sometimes.
