The thing that's worked best for me is to do as many multiple choice questions and practice sims that you can. All the while pay attention to the areas you struggle with and take notes on those questions. Review your materials until you under stand them. The WTB is really great for this. I've combined them with CPAexcel and had a pretty good success rate thus far.

    BEC 7/12/13 - 84
    AUD 8/31/13 - 86
    REG 4/11/14 - 84
    FAR 5/30/14 - 88

My best study tip is: Go over the material twice. First-go over a section, do multiple choice, flag questions you answered incorrectly/imp questions, take notes. Move on to next section. If you scored less than 50% on MCQ with open book, I discard the session and start from the beginning, because it meant I did not understand it.

After you're done that first review, go back to your notes and redo the flagged questions. Also, try to do some sims before the exam. Every time I followed my own advice, I passed, Every time I couldn't finish reviewing all sections, I failed. The scores below are just for the past year when i got mad and started studying in earnest.

    BEC-75

    AUD-84

    REG- 73, retake Feb 28, 2014

    FAR-waiting for result.

My exam study tip would be to make sure that you devote time to your family while studying. To me, there is nothing that relaxes me more during a long study session than taking a break and seeing the family for a bit before resuming. I cannot guarantee that it will increase your score, but it may help to keep you sane.

So it seems that you know about us lurkers Jeff! I must profess, this is my first post. I have been visiting the site and forums for a couple of months now and you convinced me to post today, so Kudos to you! I hope this leads to me posting more often and hopefully once I pass my exams I can help provide more insight to others. So far I have taken BEC and REG and failed both, but I am gaining steam and hope to pass on the next go-round!

I'll just read and understanding the material first before going to the multiple choice. I think the tests are hard, therefore it's better of to have a good understanding for a few rather than a little understanding over all the subject matter.

    BEC (11/02/2013)- 90
    AUD (12/06/2013)- 75
    FAR (01/04/2014)- 84
    REG 69, 74, (waiting for 11/23/14)

Sleep. You are no good to your job or your study plan if you are sleep deprived, not to mention your health.

I think the most useful interview tip I've learned from experience is to just RELAX. I know it's easier said than done, but interviewers are trying to get to know you and what you're all about. And if you're super anxious, it will be difficult for your personality to come through, which is exactly what they're trying to figure out. Everyone has different strengths, so don't try to be someone that you're not because you think that's what they're looking for. Figure out what strengths you possess that you can contribute to the company and play that up. So just relax and try to be yourself as much as possible.

My best study tip is to make time to exercise and eat well. It's so easy to blame studying for not maintaining a healthy lifestyle. If health isn't a priority it makes sitting and focusing to study much more difficult.
