The best advice that I can give is to be determined that you will pass. If you are determined then you will plan your studying out, you will force yourself to study on days that you don't want to, and you will NOT give up! Once you pass your first test, you will feel more confident and determined than ever!

Study where you don't have any distractions. I would go to work on the weekends to study so that I could just concentrate on studying. At home I was taking too many breaks and trying to do stuff I normally hated doing like folding laundry just because I would rather do that than study.

I also listened to NINJA Audio every day, all day at work instead of the radio. Even if I wasn't concentrating on what Jeff was saying, it was constantly playing in the background.

The CPA studying tip I would like to contribute is to develop a “study schedule.” Being married with kids along with having a full time job can make it difficult and definitely put a toll on study times. Making a schedule will allow you to keep a balance between study and family time. P.S. You can do it! Yes you can!

The best tip I have, is to not sweat the small stuff. In other words, don't get bogged down trying to memorize ever little nit-picky detail. Make sure you have a firm understanding of the broader conceptual issues in each section. From my experience taking the exam, the calculation type questions are never as complicated as the review courses.

My advice would be to pace yourself and take breaks so you don't become too overwhelmed and burn out. Follow a reasonable study schedule and make it a routine. It's easy to become frustrated with the material but it's very important to not give up. Keep in mind that this is a passable exam, you can definitely do it.

Also, once you finish a chapter don't wait until you finish the rest of them to come back and review. Occasionally take progress tests and review notes and flash cards so that you don't totally forget the details of those chapters you worked so hard to complete.

    Best of luck!

The best tip I have is to schedule breaks on a heavy study day! I always have a workout break….to refresh my mind! Also, brain food breaks are important. Always make sure to stick to the time limits on your breaks. If you set a 20 minute break, it can't turn into a 30 minute break!!

If you wait until you feel ready, you will keep putting it off! Set a goal and focus on it by staying on a studying course. Make it a priority or time will slip away!!
