    Study Tip:

When creating your study plan it helps to break down modules/chapters into workable chunks. This helps me to not feel overwhelmed when studying FAR. Oh yeah. notes, notes and more notes.

    FAR - 72 - 04/15/14 - (Retake in July)
    REG - 08/30/14
    BEC - TBD
    AUD - TBD

My study tip is do the same MCQ for at least 2 rounds. 1st round, do the MCQ with the answer on the side. Review the question and answer explanation for correct and wrong answer choices. Then take notes on point that you think you will easily forget (I find it is a good way for me to remember thing when I write it down even though I may not read it later). In round 2, do the same MCQ without looking at the answer and see how many questions you get it right. If it is below satisfaction, do them all again until you get the score close to perfect. Good luck study everyone!

Ok so coming from someone who has failed this exam MANY times, my piece of advice to you.

If what you tired in the past did not work, try something new!

I always went into my CPA prep with “I need to learn the material” …and I failed :-(. This time my approach is I need to LEARN TO HOW TO THE PASS CPA EXAM…master the exam format, the MCQs, the simulations. Don't try to learn accounting…just focus on mastering the questions and answers. Invest in the Wiley Test bank and work it until you know the answer before you finish the question. Take it as your personal mission to BEAT THE CPA EXAM!!!

    Good luck NINJAS!

Using multiple sources for practice questions has really helped me. This way I can't memorize the answers and it gives me more exposure to different types of questions.

    AUD-71, Re-Take 2/21

    FAR-74,76

    REG-TBD

    BEC-TBD

Exam Tip: Studying for the CPA exam is not a phase, it's a lifestyle change. You. Must. Commit.

Career Tip: In the tax world, when hit with a question you're not sure about it, answer it with “it depends” and then go look it up. In almost every scenario, it usually does “depend” on what's behind the question, unless the question is can I write off my cat, then that is a solid no, but you get the point.

For each CPA exam section I have made an excel document to track the tasks i've completed. For example it would say:

    FAR Section 1:

    Watch video

    Watch video a 2nd time

    Do Homework

    Create outline

Do review of this chapter/Progress Test

    Flashcards

I do that for each chapter within each section to break tasks into smaller pieces. I highlight the lines in green when I'm done with the smaller tasks. It also allows me to track the hours I've completed and the hours left to go. I know I'm crazy to watch the becker videos twice, but I've found that it's really made a difference for me!

My study tip is to be realistic about study and exam time tables. Speaking from experience, I did not give my self a realistic time table trying to be like others and failed FAR miserably. Studying too long gives room for procrastination and too little sets the stage for failure. So again be realistic with timetables.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
