My advice would be to put in the time! Hard work and dedication is what pays off with the CPA exam.

The best advice I was ever given was to take a look at someone you know who has already passed the exam and say to yourself “If they can do it, I sure can!”

The best tip that I can give you is that “Don’t give up on studying and taking CPA exams when you are so frustrated”.

Career tip – If you are looking for advancement within your current organization go to boss and ask him or her what you can do to sharpen your skills so you could be considered for the next promotion. Don't just sit there being bored or complacent. Go ask your boss if there is anything you can do to help them. Show them that you want to learn more and to take on more responsibilities.

Study tip – When I am tired I often times find it difficult to concentrate. I sit at my kitchen table and read and then forget what I have just read. The best solution for me in these situations is to get up and walk. Many times my most productive study times occur when I am on my treadmill with Jeff's audio on my ipod. Sometime I will even take my laptop, put it on WiFi, lay it against the treadmill display, and watch CPA review videos while on the treadmill.

When it comes to career advice; I have one gold nugget to share: Never Settle. This can go across many things in life; however, it applies to your career as well. Someone wrote something similar to that on this forum and I took it to heart. Back then I almost took a job that I thought “would work”. Today I have a job that is the job I wanted, in the industry that I wanted, and that provides me with an amazing opportunity to grow. It's also a great resume builder.

So remember, don't stay in a job or take one, because it's a job. Unless of course, you are in need of one desperately. Never settle on something mediocre.

    FAR - Bad Fail '11, Fail '12, Fail '13, PASS It's a miracle!
    AUD - Fail, PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC - PASS!!!!!!!!
REG - PASS!!!!!!!! And I'm done!

I like to make sure I commit all the mnemonics to memory because they truly do help. I write down every mnemonic from each section and create a little “story”. The order of the mnemonic is in the order taught by Becker. When I'm taking my exam or when I first enter I write down my “story” so that I can use it during the exam. It really really helps. Also, I like to type my notes, then hand write them, them type them again, and again– this help me remember small points that are important.

    🙂

    Aud – 79

    FAR- 2/28/14

    AUD (2/16)-84
REG (05/16)-69 Retake (7/16)-79 (ty ninja MCQ)

    Study Tip:

When creating your study plan it helps to break down modules/chapters into workable chunks. This helps me to not feel overwhelmed when studying FAR. Oh yeah. notes, notes and more notes.

    FAR - 72 - 04/15/14 - (Retake in July)
    REG - 08/30/14
    BEC - TBD
    AUD - TBD
