Turn off Facebook and Twitter. Use the Pomodoro technique along some classical music while reading your books and note taking. Listen to Ninja audio in the gym and commute, do tons of MCQ's, take more notes, and do a ton of MCQ's again. Be patient and stay positive. Oh yeah and pray! We can and will do this!!

Tip: The night before the exam, re-read your notes and go to bed early. Don't burden yourself with trying to cram more study time – let your brain relax and digest the tons of info you have crammed into it!

Best study tip I have found so far is to have an actual routine. For me getting up an extra two hours early and studying every morning is a lot easier than trying to study after work. After the first 2 weeks, my body now just knows it's time to get up and go have coffee. Helps keep me focused and motivated.

Best work advice…. when working with a difficult client count to 3 before every response be they verbal, email, etc.

I was always told that the CPA exam in an exam for the geniuses. However, I was proved wrong once I took the exams. I discovered that the AICPA does not test you for your smarts or IQ; they test your patience and perseverance. If you put in the hours of study then you will be able to boast the CPA title after your name in a matter of time.

The most important thing that I took away from the exams: I walked out of my FAR exam with tears in my eyes. Literally. I felt terrible and even determined that passing was impossible due to calculated metrics (as an accountant). I cruised through the MCQ, but the TBS were murder. I felt that it negated AICPA's insistence that the TBS testlet is not based on one's performance on the MCQ testlets.

A month later, while I began studying for AUD, I went onto the NASBA site to check my score. I didn't go to see whether I passed or not, I merely went to check out how bad I did. My best case scenario was a 74. My calculation was that even if I scored a perfect 60 on the MCQ, I did not have 15 points for the TBS. I figured that I had the research tab in the bag and maybe one more simulation. The others were simply foreign topics with no scroll-down menus and all I did was guesstimate. My score was a whopping 97!

Another71 provided me with the serenity after I completed the exam. The helpful posts on this very forum calmed my nerves and allowed me to continue to AUD. The posters were right that we cannot speculate. Indeed, when my friends asked me how I felt I did on AUD my answer was: “I no longer speculate”. I passed with a 99!

I recently took REG and am waiting with bated breath for my score. I am more afraid than ever because I had a limited amount of time to study and did not utilize NINJA to its fullest extent. However, I know that I cannot hit the jackpot anymore lest I wish to have eggs thrown in my direction…

    FAR: 97
    AUD: 99
    REG: 94

My study tip is to relax! Don't stress too much or you'll burn out. An hour or two of hanging out with friends one day out the week will not hurt your chances of passing. Being overworked will affect you negatively! Study hard, but not to the point where you're going crazy. The calmer you are about this, the more confidence you'll have while taking the exam.

The day before or the morning before the exam, make sure you do something other than cramming. I would either do my exercise class or try to at least take the dog on a 20 minute walk. Slightly rest your brain. Blast your music on your drive to the testing facility, always sort of helped calm my nerves but pump up my mood also.
