Hi. Lately I finished reading No One Would Listen: A True Financial Thriller by Harry Markopolos.

The book was related to concepts I learned in class, such as fraud, internal controls, auditing, finance, etc, and I enjoyed reading it.

I am wondering if there are more books (fiction or nonfiction, but not too technical) that could be enjoyable for accounting majors. If you know some, could you recommend some for me?

I am very tired of studying for Auditing, and I need some distractions…

I bought Accounting for Trouble for my Kindle Fire and my advice is to save your dollar! I didn't make it to chapter 3 before I got disgusted and quit reading. That is seriously not like me so that should tell you just how bad the book is. One book that I did really like was The Smartest Guys in the Room. It's about the Enron fiasco and it is very enlightening to say the least. Most people didn't understand it because they really get into detail about mark to market accounting.

I recall reading part of a book by Joseph T Wells one day when I worked in internal audit and I didn't have a laptop. I didn't get around to picking it back up once I got a computer, but it seemed pretty cool. I don't remember which book though unfortunately…

One of my favorite accounting books is the Smartest Guys in the Room like Kricket says. I found it really interesting and enlightening about what exactly happened with Enron and Arthur Anderson.
