What would be the real difference between In-Charge vs Senior? In-Charge is one level before senior, but it looks like many public accounting firms do not have In-Charge (Staff->Senior).

I work at a small firm and was wondering how many firms have in-charge title.

In my experience, “In-Charge” was a title given to those who have the work experience to be considered a Senior, but lack their CPA. At least that was the case for the 2 In-charge's that I knew.

At my firm, in-charge is basically who is running the audit. It is normally a senior, but it could also be a supervisor, experienced staff, or even a manager in some cases.
