I got my CPA license number yesterday, and was really happy that I achieved this.
But here is a concern.
My job is IT Audit, sometimes working together with business auditors in integrated audits. It is very difficult to get to learn about business stuff without actually getting exposure to it. Even though I learned all journal entries, financial report, all high level concepts from FAR, I am not really familiar with actual business (Actual business is quite different from what’s written in FAR book) Sometimes I wish to go work as accountant just to get grasp of financial accounting, but this doesn’t seem as easy as it sounds because it needs a big change in my career, and I like IT audit, and want to stay in this career.
In my case, is there any way for me to stay current and get familiar with actual business world? Is there any website, or some other ways?
Thank you for advice in advance!
