I think about the CPA exam everyday, can't wait to start studying. This normal?

As I get closer to the 150 hr requirement to sit, I been thinking about the CPA exam alot, like everyday. A part of me can’t wait to start studying for the exam later next year (mostly because I will get to re-learn all the accounting I learned in school that I have pretty much forgotten now). I kind of feel weird for being excited because I know how exhausting and difficult the CPA exam journey is and I know it will consume my life until I pass it. Is it normal to be excited about preparing for the CPA exam even though I know it will take over my life?

Enjoy your “planning phase” of CPA journey. Planning is always exciting, and optimistic.

But you will see once it begins πŸ˜‰

    Currently:
    CPA - Class of 2013
    ALMI (Associate, Life Management Institute)
CISA - Passed in 2011, Certified in 2014

    In Progress:
ASA (Associate of Society of Actuaries) - EXAM P (O), EXAM FM (O), EXAM MFE (X), EXAM MLC (X), EXAM C (X)

I was excited to study for BEC, after I was done with FAR! For obvious reasons…. other than that, cannot wait to be done…..

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

    @DJN, maybe I am a misguided soul.

to everyone else–I am enjoying my free time. I'm just ready to get those 3 letters behind my name. I hope I have the same optimism when I'm studying. But sometimes looking through this forum, it will question why I wanted to become a CPA in the first place.

Video games are my weakness. Not looking forward to giving them up for study time, but it has to be done.

Which CPA exam review are you planning to use? That might determine how happy/unhappy you will be πŸ˜‰

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
