TncincyParticipantWell, what else can we say but congrats on passing. You're done……enjoy the next phase in life. I wish I didn't have to study but I'm not that fortunate, I have to study so….oh well. Congrats and back to studying for the rest of us.

MartinParticipantWhen I see people who can actually fly through this exam with high scores, I wonder if they would have been better off by choosing a more challenging career like Pharmacy, Computer Science, Engineering,Medicine (MD), etc. Congrats!

AnonymousInactivePeople who asked about REG.
– Memorize Becker mnemonics (ALL)
– Study business law first and then start the tax chapters – that is an effective way to avoid the headache revising all of these tax laws and formulas
– Anything that Tim or Peter skim/scan in the chapters, ignore it!
– Know the AL, navigate it before you go to sleep and know the ins and outs of it because it's you major source for the vast majority of the sims (there is a limit to what you can memorize, so for sims, you're not required to recall memory; instead, navigate the AL) (allocate at least 2 hours for sims on exam day)
– Do not focus on numbers/thresholds/brackets.
– Exam doesn't test you with calculation of tax or the sort; rather, it tests the knowledge of the law
– Read all tax returns attached to Becker, and know them
– Do all MCQs (not the optional though) MCQs that are hard or their solution requires a long path, do not get frustrated with them, just pretend they don't exist because they do not appear on the exam………. By hard I mean really hard; like there are 10 or 15 or less questions total on Becker course that this applies to.
– Do all sims (that is the only way you can force yourself to actually improve your navigating/searching skills)
– Read flashcards often
– Study only what Becker highlights in the book
– Trust your first gut, do not change your answers
– Do not spend too much time on a single MCQ. You either now it or you don't, so move on
– On exam day, read the call of the question first (last sentence) then read the whole question
– – I highly recommend using ear plugs on the exam
– Agency law and like kind exchange is important
– Do progress tests, at least 30 MCQ a day
– If you have time before the exam, don't waste time on MCQs; instead, read the chaptersI know it sounds a lot, but I did it and it was hard but it paid off. If I remember anything else, I'll come back..

UM1868MemberI find this post hilarious and his signature even more funny.
It's all subjective.
I was in big 4 and studied none for bec and less than 30 hours for aud. I passed all test on first try. So what is your definition of not studying?
All your scores tell me is that you studied 11-25 points too much.
If you could pass them that easily barely studying, why study period?
Bec-76 (7/14)
Aud-81 (8/14)
Reg-82 (7/15)
Far- 82 (10/15)Moral of the story, don't do your CPA while working in Big 4 Public Accounting.

AnonymousInactiveI studied too much for FAR/REG.. Way too much.
For BEC I studied and did MCQs for most chapters. But for AUD, I did some MCQs for chapter 1&2… And watched lectures for the rest.. Highlighting and underlining….. Comprehending the lectures took all my time which was thanksgiving break…. This is absolutely “frivolous – lol-” compared to my effort in FAR/REG. I didn't think I'd pass.
