    Hello my fellow Ninjas,
I am currently in the last two weeks of my final review for FAR, I failed FAR once before, and I am currently approaching the same wall I came across the last time. As far as doing the homework and taking notes, I think I excel wonderfully, I take a lot of notes and I make sure I understand every topic to the teeth.
However, the amount of information is SO VAST, that when I come to the final review, I always end up not being able to cover everything I knew when covered a specific topic. I was able to cover all topics for BEC,AUD, and REG. But when it comes to FAR am struggling to pick and choose where to dive and spend most of my time and wish that other topics where I didn’t review well and beyond don’t show up in a sim.
Any suggestions on how you kept on top of covering most topics without getting lost on the details would be appreciated. Thanks

You have to get lost in the details. The details are just as critical as the major themes. What I did was take cumulative MCQ Progress Tests (Becker calls such tests Progress Tests) for material I had already studied as much as I can.

I would take such a test every morning. If it's a workday, just take a 20-30 cumulative MCQ Progress Test before you start your work day to get the FAR juices flowing in your mind. If it's a day off, take a 70-100 cumulative MCQ Progress Test to start your study day. Then, narrow your studying to re-studying chapters you already studied. Maybe on a week night, narrow your focus to one or two chapters. On a weekend, focus on 2-4 chapters. Then, at the end of each day, take another cumulative MCQ Progress Test. Obviously, on a work night, take 30 MCQ or os. On a weekend, take another 70-100 questions. Basically you want to take as many exams as you can and see the material over and over and over again.

    BEC - 85
    AUD - 81
    REG - 84
    FAR - 7/24/16

Thanks Valar, I'm also using becker. In the other 3 sections I would finish all my becker homework, take notes and then I would kinda close it by doing all MCQ's from CPA Excel. On FAR though, that has been a challenge, the last time I failed FAR, I tried the same tactic but I was not able to do the review and all the MCQ's on CPA excel before the exam, I fell short. And so this time around, I'm still reviewing like you mentioned but it seems that each section has certain details that when you put them in context to the total amount of material, they can be easy to forget. I try to review flashcards I've done about those details, and I hope this time am able to pull it off.

@livealittle , I will take it on Nov 29th at 5 pm. I will go to the starbucks that is located right in front of the testing center early in the morning, I'll review everything really well then at 4:30 I'll just cross the street and take it right there. Good luck @livealittle, hopefully this time I'll get it done. 🙂
