Tougher than it sounds if you take into consideration:

– Money you’re already spending for exams and retakes

– Money lost due to opportunity costs

– TIME LOST DUE TO STUDYING

– Happiness, fun, and memories foregone

– Tears of sorrow and frustration (per tear)

– Etc. etc.

If I had to put a $ amount to it I’d say…. no more than $15K.

@mla and @runnerup I'm with you guys – too cheap to pay more for it than I already had to!!! However, I don't have kids, my family lives out of state, my boyfriend is very supportive, and I have very very few friends in the area, so I didn't have as much of a personal-life sacrifice. I didn't lose time with kids; didn't lose time with my family; didn't have to turn down invitations from friends; and even though it was hard sometimes to turn to the books instead of my boyfriend (he had some kinda major issues that he had to deal with during my exam-period and I wish I could've supported him more), he supported me in studying which helped. (Note: His family is in the area, and did take a decent bit of time, but having to turn his family down doesn't hurt the same as having to turn my own down.) And now…I can come home every evening (to our own home which we just bought recently!) and not have to study. And that makes it worth it. 🙂 So, I don't think I would have paid to have it handed to me, but I am so thankful now to just have to ignore my man 5 days a week during business hours (and some OT), rather than in the evenings and on weekends too!
