I personally spent more than $3,000 so far (review materials and exam fees) just for FAR and AUD but not pass them yet. I am wondering how much does it cost you to pass all the parts? I saw lots of people took all of the parts more than 1 time. it is added up to a lot of money. there’s one I counted more than 10 times. wow. I really need to get another job just for this test.

    please share your pain.

    Bump!

I was in a wedding last night thinking about how much I spent on tux rentals. Then I started thinking about how much time and money this exam process costs…..I got really sad adding up the numbers.

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

A little less than $2500. I'm more worried about the time though and I've gone through a bunch of that.

    BEC-51,71,70,77
    AUD-50,62,68 (retake july)
    REG-55
    FAR-15(didnt study)

The only thing I bought was the Wiley Test bank (I think around $500 for the complete set).

A friend gave me their old Wiley Books (2013). The test-bank is up to date, so I am able to catch any changes resulting from the slightly older books (yeah yeah, cheapskate I know…)

So far so good. Hopefully on track to pass 3 sections in one testing window 1st time.

Oh, and don't forget the CPA testing fees…

This thread was depressing 2 months ago and it's depressing now. Staying true to my original post, I still want to throw up every time I think about how much I spent on this process! Ha!!!!

I feel lucky. I'm in for $1,396 for study materials and exams.

I've found a lot of free online materials and have used only the Wiley eBooks I got for my Kindle for $10 each.

My firm doesn't pay for anything, but gives $2k bonus upon completion of all four exams. My hope was to actually make money on the exams.

In that case MintsRGood, I'll just leave the bucket so you can throw up anytime you want. 🙂

I'll also leave a roll of breath mints too.

Yikes, maybe one perk of public accounting is that they support the exams pretty well?

Others mentioned it already, but Big 4 provides the Becker review and reimburses fees for 4 parts (no retakes). Given imputed taxes on Becker, I think I broke even or came out a few hundred dollars ahead from the Becker materials and the ~$1k in fees reimbursed? There was also the bonus for passing… but that's more of a contingent way to push you to finish exams.

I think I would have had to pay for additional retakes if I had to, but additional retakes fees would not have been covered.

Whatever my Big 4 employer charges as a fringe benefit when I start. Thought I wasn't getting taxed on this…apparently not.

I spent about $1,200 on test fees and $140 on Wiley Books from Amazon. My employer reimbursed me for $1,000 when I passed my last section, so the total cost to me was $340.

Lucky enough to have made $5000 off passing bonus. All tests and Becker was paid for by firm. I did have to spend $7 for transcript to nasba to sit for exam though

Geez, fortunately my employer paid for my Wiley materials… however so far here's my count for exam fees. Like poster above, I don't want to vomit up my dinner so I'd rather not sum it up.

AUDx4 (finally passed it.. now its about to expire 🙁 )

BECx4 (about to take it a 5th time)

    REGx2

    ----------
    AUD - 74, 77! (1/2016)
    BEC - 80! (5/2016)
    REG - tbd (8/2016)
    FAR - tbd

    Study materials: NINJA MCQ/Audio/Notes
