How long does it take you to get to work and back home from work? In minutes and miles? I am applying for jobs and trying to figure out if its worth traveling 50+ miles to and from work everyday.

It takes me over an hour each way…so I spend about 2.5 hours sitting in a car five days a week 🙁

I live 11 miles from work…but takes me an hour to get in whether I use public transportation or drive. That's Boston for ya! Prior to that, I lived in the midwest and I had a job 28 miles from home, but no traffic, so it was worth it. All depends on your current situation.

I used to commute about 3 hrs a day using trains (had to catch 2 trains each way). It was fine until we had kids. After that it just wasn't worth it. Now the kids are older and in school, but will not commute more than 45 min. each way.

1hr and 15min drive one way for me. Its unfortunate because I live in the boonies, and there are ZERO accounting jobs near where I live. Since we have roots where we live, I make the commute. Its not so bad really. I just load my study lectures onto my phone, and can listen to 2.5 hours of study material on my commute.
