How long does it take to receive Authorization to Test (California)?

I registered for the California Board of Accountancy on May 5th and they got my check on May 13th. My check cleared already and it has already been deducted from my account. Here is the problem; I have yet to receive my ATT and my plan was to take the first exam sometime during the first half of July, but it is looking less likely as I have to wait for my ATT, wait for the payment coupon, then wait for the NTS, and at this rate it might take more than 2 weeks before I receive everything, if I am lucky. Plus, I recently reported an address change and I am afraid that this will further complicate things.

For anyone who went through this, is this typical or unusual that it takes this long (specifically in California)? They said it would take 4-6 weeks and it has already been 6 weeks. Sigh. At this rate, I might have to wait until late August or October to take my first exam. I won’t have much time to schedule all 4 sections that close until then as I am taking Becker Fastpass back to back, with the exception of next week, where I have a week off between AUD and BEC. I am currently unemployed and living with my aunt in California while I take the exam and was hoping to have all 4 sections done by late August, get a job, move out, then settle down. If only they offered testing in September I wouldn’t be so concerned.

They take a while. I had the pleasure of them acknowledging they received my application and then having it completely overlooked. The guy at the BOA was really upset since he was working on apps from 2 weeks after mine. I ended up getting my approval that same day that I called and spoke to him. The NTS takes like 3 days after payment.

If you applied in May please call. Applications do fall between the cracks.
