How is simulation calculated?

Just wondering how the simulations on the exams are scored?

    Eg/

    Q1 6 / 8 fields = 75%

    Q2 5 / 5 fields = 100%

    Q3 4 / 5 fields = 80%

    Q4 8 / 8 fields = 100%

    Q5 4 / 8 fields = 50%

    Q6 2 / 5 fields = 40% (Pretest)

    Q7 Research = 1/1 = 100%

    Average = (75+100+80+100+50+100)% / 6 = 84.16% or

    add all the numerators and denominators = (6+5+4+8+4+1)/(8+5+5+8+8+1) = 28/35 = 80%

or are they randomly weighted and compared to the other AICPA test takers?

    Thanks.

I'm fairly certain any response you get to this question will be conjecture.

    No one knows!

But I tried to do my own estimatations the way you do it. Thought I did rather poorly on sims and ended up being stronger so who knows….

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14
