How do people come up with names like "Ordinary annuity" and "annuity due"

    So inefficient to figure out which one means payment at beginning of period and which one at the end.

    Doing a BEC Capital budgeting question, finally get knocked off by this notion from FAR and college accounting class, lol. I know ordinary annuity due is more often discussed than annuity due.

    I mean, I would rather prefer “leading annuity” and “trailing annuity”.

    @nalratoss, you will figure it out with more practice and exposure…a lot of accounting terminology doesn't follow common sense

    Since studying for this exam, I've lost my command of the English language. Lol.

    Annuity due = payment at the beginning of the year
    Ordinary annuity = end of the year

    BEC = 72 (6/08/16)
    FAR = ?
    REG = ?
    AUD = ?

    DUE – Early payment (Beg year)

    ORDINARY – Normal payment (End year)

    Its tricky, but you will get it with practice my friend. I HATE the Tax Code much more than FAR/BEC language BTW! Lol.

    Goodluck.
