How can I keep this promise? - Page 2

My husband and I are going to Vegas this weekend to see Andrea Bocelli in concert. We planned this trip many, many months ago, it was very expensive and he is super excited about it. If the NINJAs are correct, and who would ever doubt them, score release will be Friday Dec 6 and Illinois usually releases the next day which will be Saturday Dec 7…concert day. My husband made me promise NOT to check scores until we get home from the trip so that if it is a fail…and I lose my credit for AUD… it won’t ruin our trip. I don’t know how I can keep this promise as I am on pins and needles for the score right now. Should I check the score and ask for forgiveness later? Or wait til I get home? What would you do?

If it is a PASS, it would be so much fun to celebrate the end of this nightmare in Vegas, baby!

I feel for you if you are having to take sadistics. I hated that class with every fiber of my being. I was hesitant to check my last score, well hesitant probably isn't the right word. I was sure I had failed, so I had Sandra, an A71 alum, check my score. She called me to tell me I had passed. I think she was getting a pedicure at the time. When she told me, I was in shock and I think I called her a liar. I'm not sure now. Anyway, it felt good to NOT obsessively hit F5.

@BaxterCPA let your yes be yes and your no be no. You made the promise. It is hard to keep for sure especially when it comes to score release and it compounds with loss of credit. You can wait, your body and mind will fight you but BE STRONG OF HEART. I believe in you.

You will be glad you could honor your promise to your husband as that is SOOOOOOO much more important than 2 days of waiting on scores.

I say don't check especially since you promised not to. However, I know if it was me, I wouldn't be able to resist.

Maybe you could start telling yourself that the date to check your score is “x date”. Keep saying that to yourself and enjoy Vegas while you have the opportunity. The score won't change and it will be there when you get back.

I would wait, but then again, I say I would wait but I would really look. Shoot, I thought Illinois was some day, didn't realize it was the next day. Gosh darnit!

Go ahead and check it. Don't tell him if you fail: What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!

Actually, don't check it…keep your promise.

Ron: That made me laugh out loud in my office!

Thanks for all the responses. I am NOT going to check the scores. My sister has my user name and password so I may tell her that she can check IF she wants to…but to call me ONLY if I pass. =)

Let your sister check, if a pass call you, if not the score is not in, and relax and enjoy. šŸ™‚ That is what I did for my score when I went into surgery. I didn't want to know if I failed, so they were going to keep it from me for a few days to let me start healing. And you know that they can release scores late so the score may not be in on friday and you would have to wait untill monday. No checking this site either! Vegas will have many distractions for you. Go and enjoy.

Have fun at the show! I have heard it is amazing. I have a friend who's wife sings with Andrea Bocelli in Vegas. I was invited to go see the show as a reward for passing. I agree that would be a amazing way to celebrate!! have fun!!!!
