Hail Marry Attempt

In the beginning of the window I took and passed REG. Since then I’ve been trying to cram for FAR, which I take tomorrow, in what I am classifying as a Hail Mary. With busy season and school I probably got about 120-150 hours in, but I’m still getting 70s on practice testlets. Just throwing this one up and seeing if the CPA gods are on my side. Has anyone on the forum been in a similar situation and pulled it off?

    AUD- 78
    BEC- 79
    REG- 91
    FAR- 83

    DONE

I had to take FAR on 11/30 or lose AUD (had already lost and re-passed BEC) and it was after a surgery and while my dad was fighting renal failure. I took the exam on 11/30 and passed with a 78. I don't know if this is what you consider a “Hail Mary” but I darn sure said a LOT of prayers before and after that exam. =)

Good luck with FAR! I hope you knock it out!!

I'm doing the same tomorrow. My NTS for FAR expires tomorrow, so I'm going to be taking it. I don't feel like I'm prepared as I've only really gone over the material once or twice, but maybe I'll get lucky. I'm just going to do tons of MCQ and try to memorize JEs, and hope the SIMS hit on topics I know well.

Best case I somehow pull off a 75/76, worst case I register for a new NTS and take FAR in early April as I was planning to do anyways. Nothing to lose!

@Cpahopeful2828, You are right there is nothing to lose. I hated to waste the money I paid for FAR and REG. I couldn't get it together so I forfeited the nts for reg. I took far and failed because I was so worried about the expiring nts. so what you can do is make the decision to be prepared. Failing these test is not easy to rebound from. Sometimes it take a while to get the courage to go at studying again. So I suggest you eat the nts that expires tomorrow and be prepared for April. No more excuses ( I told my self) it's time to get this done. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a hail marry if you have a 75 chance of passing, but if you know you are not prepared for what ever reason just start from the top with a new nts.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass
