This topic looks so terribly scary. Just wondering how well do I need to know this? Becker crammed everything in Chapter 10 Module 6 but it seems to deserve at least one whole chapter.

The “can cpas ride sit” mnemonic is really helpful. Writing out the journal entries helps, too. I made an Excel chart for govt for all the moving parts. I think the “can” is BS and the “cpas ride sit” is for IS so when you look at the question, it will let you know which mnemonic to use.

Thanks. I almost passed out listening to Gearty's lecture last night. He did mention this part will most likely appears as MCQ (finger crossed). I think a second round on this topic is necessary.

Don't assume it's going to MCQ's. I'm not allowed to say that there was or wasn't a government problem or 2 on my test, but definitely don't assume there won't be one or more.

I found Becker useless for governmental, and thought Roger was just as bad. I finally gained understanding from two really inexpensive sources:

1. Bob Monette's lectures in the Ninja Plus videos. He has maybe 4 hours on governmental and they are solid gold
2. Farhat's accounting lectures on Youtube. A ton of information here and all very well-explained

At some point, somebody with the review course companies has to realize the method they are using to teach governmental in their expensive courses just isn't working. The overwhelming majority of people complain about governmental in every course and it can't be that it's that hard or that none of us understand it just because we haven't seen it before.
