If POTUS and Congress would just listen to the GAO we would not be in this mess. Thank you for the gov't shutdown! Politicians are bankrupting our country.
CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!

Application Mailed: 3/16/15
Professional Conduct Exam: 97
Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!October 1, 2013 at 9:12 pm #456329ZaqParticipantI always feel like I'm way too ignorant of how politics works that it's best that I leave my thoughts unsaid. Even when I research and stay informed, someone more knowledgeable comes out of the woodworks and points out how wrong I am.
So this is me saying nothing about the government shutdown.

October 1, 2013 at 9:49 pm #456488MintsRGoodParticipant1. There's no such thing as FARE on the CPA exam 😉
2. As long as the IRS continues to process tax returns, our soldiers get paid, old people get SS, and the post office keeps bringing in my receivables then all of the blowhards in congress can squawk and pout all they want. Those are essential services!
3. Glad to hear the “non-essential” services us taxpayers foot the bill for have been identified! Now that we've cleared that up, we can stop paying for $hit we don't need with money we don't have. That's called fiscal responsibility, which CPAs are pros at.
4. Congress should be comprised of CPAs. We'd hash it out, review it, journalize it, post it, and bill it out in time for happy hour. Done. 😉
REG: 75 DONE 🙂
AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂

Like our CPA exam. And if not, why the heck not? We're all supposed to protect the public… right?

October 2, 2013 at 12:01 am #456335AnonymousInactiveFood for thought. Someone/few super clever individuals made a tonne (obviously billions of dollars) from this shutdown. That's what I call brilliant move. While everyone is quibbling about the “ACA” using that as an excuse for shut down. 1% of the 1% are celebrating because every minute of this shutdown someone is rolling in money. In my imaginary world that's me.
There is always a winner in CRISIS. And its not the little guy. Because we are always fighting yesterdays fight people couldn't be bothered with new laws which will shape our future.

I'm sad about the national parks. Seeing as I'm in the middle of studying, I'm not taking any trips to national parks soon but I always hit them up when I travel. If that's an “unnecessary spending”, I understand but still. 🙁

Way to act like adults, guys! That's more than I can say for my Facebook feed.
