Hi all,
I’ve been working in gov accounting for a while and my biggest frustration is that no one is held accountable. I hate political work environments. Maybe I’m not cut out for governmental accounting? I’m a very hard worker and I like being surrounded by people who work hard. I see a lot of people getting paid significantly more than me for significantly less work.

Be careful. Especially in talking with people on here about your job. You literally never know who you will be talking with.

I understand, but if you discuss this privately, that is why I think it'd be safe. I do agree though, it pays to asks questions up front, as to the party you are talking to and who the message might get back to (if anyone).
