How can we get a copy of Form 1099 from YouTube?

They won't send you one unless you made over $600 I don't think. There should be something in your Adsense account.

Thanks Jeff for replying to my inquiry. I really appreciate it.

My son is the YouTube Earner, not me. He made more than $14k in the last 10 months of 2013. It's his first year earning from YouTube so we're very new to this thing and it's just his first time to include these earnings in his taxes.

He is (a permanent resident) based outside the United States and tries to keep his residence status by maintaining his US bank accounts (where YouTube proceeds are credited monthly) and other financial transactions.

Since I am the Mom and the Accounting “Expert' in the family, I am in-charge to take care of my son's financial affairs in the US. Oh well, only today I got the chance to update his W9 online via his Gmail Adsense. I have been waiting for this Form 1099 in the mail. I guess the waiting is futile.

So, are we going to receive something from YouTube in the mail now after this update?

You will get a 1099 sent to the address on file with Google via his W-9.

You should have gotten it already, however.

Yes, he is a singer/songwriter.

He was so bored here in Kentucky, while working full-time for 40 hours and doing pretty much nothing on the remaining 120 hours in a week, he was able to write/compose his own songs and uploaded them on YouTube.

Out of 50 songs he wrote, mostly in our native language (very few English songs) he hit several million views and went viral. I bet if he would write more English songs, the number of views would double up or maybe triple even more.

I just updated his account on Google AdSense by filling out his SSN today. I really hope we will get the tax forms we need so I can process his return sooner.

that's awesome! i really admire and like self made artists. too bad i don't know that much about writing songs! even worse is that i can't sing high notes/i don't like my voice. though I'm practicing in my spare time to do covers as a hobby. takes me months or more to do one song.. that nobody listens to anymore.

i wonder if i can hear a sample? maybe you can hint a keyword and i'll search for him (due to privacy reasons?)

I am a very proud Mom and I tell everyone, everywhere who my sons are, what have they done and accomplished.

There are no privacy reason constraints whatsoever, he is anyway a public figure now.
