Getting the 150 Requirement?

I live in Virginia and I’m currently in undergrad. However, I transferred from a 4 year university after my Freshman year. However, especially because I was going from a public to a private school, they would not take it even as an elective credit. Would those classes count toward my 150 despite the fact that they’re not a part of my current academic transcript? Also, when I transferred, due to some rules imposed by my current school, full unit classes were only counted as .86 for my current school. In terms of counting towards the 150, would it count as the full 1 credit or only as the .86?

    Thanks!

I'd have to know more about the 1 to .86 conversion to say for certain – like was it due to switching from quarter hours to semester hours? If so, the 150 is semester hours, so the same conversion would apply. However, classes which weren't duplicated would count even if your current college doesn't count them, you'd just have to submit transcripts from both. Any which were repeated would only count once, though. (Say you took Intro Accounting at University #1 and Accounting Principles at University #2, both to fulfill the same requirement, but #2 wouldn't accept #1's class – the credits would only count from 1, since they'd be considered a duplicate course.)

I went through the same dilemma with credits not transferring. So to answer your first question, those credits that didn't transfer in to your current school still count towards the 150.

I live in Pennsylvania, and was able to submit a pre-evaluation to my state's board of accountancy. It cost me $50 to do this, but you're lucky because Virginia is only $25. They look at all of the credits you have earned (regardless of how they transferred), so they would be the ultimate authority as to whether those .86 classes are counted as .86 or 1 (I'm guessing they will count as the full 1). They just require you to have official copies of your transcripts mailed in. See the bottom of this link for the sections “Transcripts” and “Pre-evaluations”:
