My husband recently was laid off from a factory job so I’ve been thinking about getting another job. I work full time as an accountant at public accounting firm. He wants to go to college and is currently receiving unemployment – obviously he could get another job (but the rest of the factory jobs here pay 1/2 what he was making) but he wants to get a degree and get some job stability and he worked 2 jobs to put me though school so it’s kind of my turn. My question is… How “professional” does it look for me to get another job? I put in an application at a gas station across the street – we have three kids, they only want someone for nights and weekends and obviously that’s all I can do. I mean what is it going to look like when a client comes in and sees their accountant at the register? Or should I not care? Its not like I can be a second shift accountant so I’m not sure what my other options are.
