last time i was watching Russia play was during UEFA 2012, I believe it was game with Greece and it was painful. They were just walking around the field which happens a lot with them. I didn't get to watch the last game as I was in NYC Penn station at the time waiting for the train to Boston and xfinity didn't let me stream. I understand that the goalie Akinfeev made a mistake. My husband was watching and said he didn't get an impression that they have a chance against any strong team

I have noticed a few times when being asked where I am from and I say “Mombasa, Kenya” and the response I get is “Oh where is that ? . I say “East Africa”… They replied “South Africa. Yes very nice place!”

I try to explain “Ummmm South Africa is a country and its South of Africa, Kenya is also a country and is located in the East African region and Africa is the actual continents name … “

I still get Yes Yes we know South Africa is a big continent… I just gave up…

I also have very strong Africa-safari-giraffe/elephant association chain in my mind, which I agree shows how uneducated and ignorant I am about the rest of the world (I don't deny), but I don't see how that tweet was racist, really lol

I don't think its racist, its rather ignorance …most people think about safari when they hear about Africa, I'm not surprised they tagged a giraffe to Ghana lol… we don't even have giraffe in Ghana except those imported into our zoos

I tell people does it kill you to google Africa! Then you will see its a continent with countries in it. Remember Cape Town -South Africa is an island ;)!!. But then it turns out we studied more global geography and history compared to most countries. Learn the basics of continents etc. Don't get me started on that topic. People say you must have pet Lion. I tell them really Mufasa will gobble me up in one go (Do you know how huge a lion is?) Yes, we have cars and get American, English, French tv, and more. Ketchup and McDonalds….

Don't get me started on the South African team too!! As soon as the players signed million euros contracts some of them became unfit or could not make the soccer training camps.

Its really funny but I don't know what they are trying to achieve.

Motor sports is even rated far ahead of soccer in this country, anyway those commercials are the reason why I stay glued to my TV during half time. Very funny.
