I have completed the CPA exam last year, I am likely to join an industry rather than a public accounting firm. In order for myself to meet the work requirements for General accounting license does my supervisor need to be an active CPA? What if im in a team where the direct boss or the CFO is not a CPA? Thanks

TO be a CPA means carefully reviewing rules and codes, so you need to start researching questions like this now. You'll be doing it daily.

This is governed by STATE law, and the states vary somewhat. So you need to check your STATE's rules. Call your local industry chapter if needed.

In my state, the experience has to be direct supervision by a CPA. Not your supervisor's boss. I know other states are more lenient.

What @aaronmo said. In my state, a supervisor or coworker who's a licensed and active CPA can verify your work history.
