Hi all, I have terrible anger issues when studying, which really makes it hard to concentrate.

The normal chain of events is:

    1. Watch all lectures, take 100+ pages of notes…easy

    2. Read notes, listen to Jeff

    3. Sit down to take MCQ for the guarantee that comes with the software

    4. Get frustrated and angry – Punch wall, yell and curse at myself because I’m stupid, and can’t answer a question after 50 hours of studying, get migraine…stop studying completely for weeks and go back to a happier place. This happens with MCQ all the time. If I get a 40% on MCQ, that’s close to what I would get if I hadn’t studied at all (4 choices 25%).

    5. Delay exam or not take at all, due to being an idiot

I’ve tried anger management books, psychologist, but I haven’t tried medication yet.

What do you guys do when getting frustrated?

    FAR 72, 89
    BEC 80
    REG 90
    AUD 79

It helps me if I make time for exercise because then I focus better and I am calmer during studying and when I come home to my wife…

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

^ But then the wife gets you all riled up again when get home, so it's sort of a Vicious Cycle.

I also get really pissed/frustrated on my first few rounds (notice the plural) of MCQs for a given chapter. For FAR it was just brutal…however I did not know what to expect. I am not doing much better in REG; the difference is that I know it is normal to do poorly those first few rounds.

As hard as it is, have faith in the process. I was a total non-believer but I promise everything below is true:

    1. The MCQs are a huge part of the learning process.

    2. Don't worry about the percentages in the beginning.

    3. It will all come together in the final two weeks.

Keep chugging away at it. Right now I am on what feels like my 5th review of R3 (C Corps) and it just starting to make sense…except for basis, I freaking hate that crap. So as you can see you are in good company. 🙂

Lastly, I second Skynet…when I am beyond frustrated I turn off the laptop. You aren't going to learn anything that point and are better off taking a break.

Good luck and hang in there!

FAR is long and that makes it harder than other sections, not to say others are easier. all of them have almost similar passing rates.

i am currently on F3. have passed REG and BEC on first try.

I am too not getiing more than 70% on my first try with open book. i refer to the book if i get stuck on some MCQ, but i do not look for reference for every single question.

I have scored in 50s and 60s too , but those are very small topics when becker provide about 5-10 questions only.

the long and important topics ie in marketable security chapter i am getting 70-75%. I was getting frustrated before but then i realize that i am learning from making mistakes and what i have read on these posts is that it is very normal. But still 80% is better than 70% and i want to score higher and higher.

70% sometimes frustrates me and i get angry too sometimes………because corrently working 7 days a week on 2 different jobs and not getting much time to study. recently got MARRIED too….life is harder now in terms of getting time to study….

though i have taken the exam date on Aug 31 and tried to keep it as late as possible for this window

i hope we all will conquere this one day..

my kinda topic! i'm angry and frustrated too… over 200 hours of studying and I haven't passed sh*t. No confidence going into retakes or taking another crappy exam, but really no choice but to try again and again.

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8
