[CPA EXAM] If you have no clue after first reading a question, select C, immediately flag, and move on. Work through the rest of the multiple choice questions while having that question in the back of your head, and it may come to you by the time you go back and read through your ‘flagged' questions the 2nd time around. Don't waste a few minutes mindlessly staring at the question.

Find a study partner that will put in the long hours and keep each other honest. You'll find studying is more bearable when you aren't doing it alone.

    [Interview]

Do as much research about the company as possible before arriving to the interview. This will help if they ask you if you have any questions at the end. And please, arrive on time!

[CPA Exam] Set a study alarm. This will push you to study on time and help you to stop procrastinating before beginning your studying.

    [CPA EXAM]

Have one sheet of paper, front and back where throughout your studies you add everything you feel you must commit to memory. Pneumonic devices, formulas, whatever you feel you must know by heart.

Every time you add to it, study it for a few minutes. Come exam time, you'll have it all implanted in your brain without even trying, really.

[Career] When receiving a performance evaluation, make sure to listen thoughtfully, consider all of the feedback given, and resist any temptation to immediately defend areas identified as weakness. Taking a full 24 hours (or more) for honest self-appraisal can save you from appearing close minded and unteachable. It is far easier to change someone's perception of you by taking action rather than offering excuses. Receiving a poor performance review with grace soeaks volumes to one's level of humility and can serve as major growth opportunity if you choose to make it one.

    [CPA Exam]
Even when your “pretty sure of your answer” take a quick glance at the other multiple choice answers to see what the question was trying to get you to pick (making that “stupid” mistake), since in actuality you might be making that “stupid” mistake and you can save yourself this way.
Another thing I picked up on, yes, your course that you purchased (Becker, Roger…) gives you a lot of questions from old released CPA exams, which in reality you'll never see again since they were actually released and hell will freeze over before they are used again. However, by using Ninja mcq you'll be exposed to the type of questions currently being asked and how to deduce an answer when your not sure. In my case, the review class laid the foundation, but Ninja MCQ completed the building (metaphorically speaking).

    Interview

When you are asked do you have any questions, always ask what is the biggest obstacle in your department? Follow up their question with ways that you would be able to help alleviate this obstacle.

[Resume] When describing your work experience, quantify your results. For example, “Managed production goals for department based on deadlines and project expiration and achieved 95.3% On Time Delivery”. By providing numbers and/or percentages, you are not only describing your work experience, but also showing results and legitimacy to your experience.
