[CPA Exam]: Have in mind an approximate time schedule for your exam and keep to it. For FAR and AUD I try to give each multiple choice testlet 45 minutes and for BEC and REG I give each of those testlets 30 minutes. This way you have plenty of time to tackle the simulations or writing portion.

(CPA Exam) Don't get bogged down on the multiple choice questions and spend too much time on them. Double check your calculations and make sure you read the question correctly, but don't second guess yourself and talk yourself out of a right answer. If you are really on the fence about the answe, flag it and come back if you have time, but it's much easier to use logic and reason to get a right answer on Sims than it is with MCQs.

Career-I think it needs to be discussed more that in my opinion, to have a very successful accounting career with big money, I don't believe you can really be an introvert. Accounting is always pushed and i still see it today, as being a good option for introverts. I'm an extreme introvert, and with the experience I've had, I don't feel it's a good option if you are truly a complete introvert (at least in corporate) all my experience is in corporate and i dont feel you can move ahead unless your an outgoing personality. And alot of corporate jobs require presentations etc which are not usually top choices for introverts. I'm not saying going into accounting is bad, I just don't think it should be pushed as an introvert job. It needs to be clear on what you can expect once your in the job force. I wish I had more ‘real life' experiences brought to my attention about it.

[CPA Exam] Know what your limit is when studying. If you are consistently making silly errors or are not retaining any information, you might be burned out and need to either take a break or call it a day. Know what your limit is because it will at some point, do more harm than good.

    Interview Question with HR:
What would you do if you have more work than you can finish before a deadline?
Do not answer working overtime. That is not the right answer for HR. HR is mostly looking for an “I would inform my manager about the situation” kind of answer. Manager might not like that kind of answer, but HR loves that you will communicate your issues with Managers and being realistic on your limits.

    [CPA Exam]
Don't waste time on a specific question, do all the ones you know and go back to the ones you don't know later.
Take 3 min to write down any formulas/info on your scratch board that you may forget.

[CPA Exam Studying Tip] When you are trying to study but your eyes are bugging out from the computer, treat yourself to a mani/pedi and put on your NINJA Audio tapes. Splurge the extra $5 for a hand massage.

[CPA Exam] – I normally finish a multiple choice testlet way ahead of schedule. I always go back and re read each question and see if I missed anything in reading the question the first time. It has saved me on a couple instances where I read the question as which of the following is true instead of which of the following is not true and vice versa. Or on the questions where my calculation comes close to one of the answers, but I don't answer it exactly.

[CPA Exam] Don't burn yourself out before the actual exam. Take the day before you have the exam just to relax. You don't want to be mentally tired during the actual exam. Get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast, and go into the exam rested and ready, and it is best not to worry.

[CPA Exam] If you are short on study time or sick of Becker/another review course, buy NINJA MCQ for final review because the adaptive learning and the questions in general are the key to passing the exam. Greatest $47 you will ever spend.

[Interview]: A lot of people think in order to land a job, they must be this charming individual with no imperfections during the interview. I always go into interviews as myself. I'm not perfect, but I love to learn and I constantly strive to be better. I always get an offer after.

[CPA Exam Memory Tip] To remember the different between a forecast and a projection. Think of where the words/definition/use are placed on the alphabet. A forecast deals with “current estimates” – Forecast is closer to the start of the alphabet, current is closer to the start of the alphabet and general is closer to the start of the alphabet. Projection deals with “what if”. Projection is towards the end of the alphabet and so is “what if” and so is “limited use”.

[CPA Exam] – While reading the MCQ make a note of any key words such as total/quarterly/estimate/expense/almost/never. Then read the key word while going through the answer choices to see if the answer makes sense.

    FAR - 84 - 11/14/15
    AUD - 76 - 2/6/16
    BEC - 73 - 7/13/16

[Interview] Most important question to be able to answer “Why _____ company?” i.e. why do you want to work here

must be able to give relevant, specific answer, no general answer that can apply to any company — do research before and find one thing you like that separates it from other companies

[CPA Exam] It is important to use your breaks between testlets to let your brain refresh itself. If you are prepared for the exam you will have plenty of time to complete the exam.
