I look at the scores of the some of the members here and wonder how on earth did you do it.. It’s not an easy exam for sure. I’ll be happy with just a 75. Either you’re gifted with above average IQ or you have a very efficient way to study. If you think it’s the latter, please provide some pointers. I’m trying to finish all exams by April. Which means I have 5 weeks to study for each exam. Any tips will be much appreciated.

    Great information in this thread.

    – if you still have the info, I'd be curious to know the study-hour range you compiled that's needed for each section.

Save: Thanks for the response. My background is similar to yours. I also thought I was too dumb to pass the cpa exam. Never looked into it. Assuming only very smart people could pass. I went on having a pretty successfully career with just a bachelor. But I do regret not going for a cpa long ago. Until 8 months ago, I never thought of giving it a try. This time assuming I was too old to remember all the material required (memory loss with age is a fact hehe).

What motivated me finally was watching my staff accountant pass each exam first try and within 7months. I worked with her long enough to know she's no genius so I thought if she could do it, so can I. To my surprise, these exams are not based on IQ but rather great discipline. I always imagined it to be 10 times harder.
